Statement of Values
Our driving principle is our company’s need to give back to local families and charities throughout the province in Saskatchewan.
The Men’s Charity Classic started in 2003 with the company’s commitment to support Muscular Dystrophy Research; a local family with two sons diagnosed with a rare strain of a disease known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
For Gary Mulligan and Cliff Vanderlinde 2001 proved to be a life changing year. It would be in this year that both their grandsons, Izaak and Jakob were diagnosed with Duschenne’s Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
As a result of the financial hardships that were incurred in an effort to care for these boys, a charity golf tournament was founded to alleviate the financial strain. The tournament’s mandate was to help raise funds to help this family, as well as to help others with DMD within Saskatoon.
Since then the mandate of the tournament has grown to help other families, but the desire to keep the funds locally remains at the forefront of this event.
Over the years this tournament has raised funds for Help One, The Lighthouse, The Bridge, Wheels of Dreams, Inner City Schools, and the Royal University Hospital for cause dealing with Urology, Brain Trauma, Oral Health and much more. In total, upwards of $940,000 have been raised to support local charities
The ICR Charity Classic has a mandate to support local families and causes. The tournament is accepting sponsorship requests for the money raised from the 2021 tournament. Please apply by email to our Tournament Chairman, John Kachur (firstname.lastname@example.org)
